Detailed itinerary of the safari
Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Goma in Congo
On the 1st day of 4 days gorilla and Nyiragongo hike safari, you are to be picked from the airport and transfer to Goma, upon your arrival you will be welcome by your stuff then head to kigali city for a short city tour visiting Kimironko market, Kigali genocide memorial centre and many more. After the city tour you will set off for Goma on a drive of 4-5 hours, after crossing the border and completing all the formalities you will head to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.
Accommodation is got from Mikeno lodge and Bukima tented camp

Day2: mountain gorilla trekking experience
On the 2nd day of 4 days gorilla and Nyiragongo hike safari you are to do mountain gorilla trekking experience, after breakfast you will be picked from your lodge and head to Bukima park station of Virunga national park which is a starting point for mountain gorilla trekking experience, a senior game ranger will read to you the dos and don’ts and then set off in to forests on a 3-6 hours experience in search for mountain gorillas. You are allowed to stay only for 1 hour in the presence of mountain gorillas while taking pictures and enjoying them play with their young ones, after the experience you will trek back to the headquarters then transfer to your lodge for lunch. In the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3: hiking mount Nyiragongo
On the 3rd day of 4 days gorilla and Nyiragongo hike safari you are to enjoy the adventure hiking of mount Nyiragongo, after early morning breakfast you will leave your lodge and drive to Kibati ranger post where hiking mount Nyiragongo starts from. At Kibati you will be briefed about the experience then start hiking through the impressive rainforests, the hike begins at exactly 09:00am and to reach the summit takes about 5-7 hours. At the top you will enjoy a good view of the crater with its boiling lava, you will have dinner and spend the night at a tent on the summit.

Day 4: descend and transfer back to Kigali
On the 4th and last day of 4 days gorilla and Nyiragongo hike safari you are to descend mount Nyiragongo and transfer back to Kigali for a drop off, you will have breakfast at your camp which is served at exactly 06:00 am and then start descending down to Kibati station. From Kibati you will proceed to the border of Congo-Rwanda, while in Kigali you will be dropped off at your or Kigali international airport for your departure flight after lunch.
