3 Days Kahuzi Biega gorilla safari package is a short safari package offering an opportunity for tourists to encounter and stay in the presence of lowland gorillas living in Kahuzi Biega national park, Kahuzi Biega national park is located in the eastern Democratic republic of Congo near the western bank of Lake Kivu and is a home to 6 lowland gorilla families that are Chimuka family, Mwinja family, Mpungwe family, Marhale family, Mwira family, Mugaruka family and Mwira family.

Detailed itinerary of the safari
Day 1: transfer from Kigali to Kahuzi Biega national park
The 1st day of 3 days Lowland gorilla safari is for transferring from Kigali to Kahuzi Biega national park, upon arriving you will be picked up from the airport by your safari driver and then transfer to Bukavu in Congo. On way you will be amazed by the sights of rolling hills of Rwanda, at Bukavu border you will fill in the necessary travel documents then cross into Congo. While in Congo you will head to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: lowland gorilla trekking experience
The 2nd day of 3 days Lowland gorilla safari is for enjoying mountain gorilla trekking experience, after early morning breakfast then head to the park for trekking. In the park you will be briefed about the experience where dos and don’ts on this safari will be read to you then hike into to forests in search for mountain gorillas. You will be allowed to stay only one 1 hour in the presence of lowland taking pictures and enjoying sights of them, then you will return to the park’s headquarters, meet your safari driver, head to your lodge and have lunch. In the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3: transfer back to Kigali for a flight back home
The 3rd day of 3 days Kahuzi Biega gorilla safari is for transferring back to Kigali for a flight back home, after early morning breakfast you will meet your safari driver, checkout and embark on your drive to Kigali. While in Kigali you will have a short city tour visiting Kigali genocide memorial site, Kimironko market for souvenir shopping. You will have lunch and then be dropped off either at your hotel or at Kigali international airport for your departure flight back home.
