The migration takes place is the Mara – Serengeti Ecosystem comprising of Serengeti national park in Tanzania, Masai Mara national reserve in Kenya, Tanzania’s Ndutu, Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Maswa Game Reserve in the south making a 40,000 square mile region.

Detailed Itinerary of 5 Days Masai Mara Migration Safari
Day 1: Arrive in Nairobi, Kenya
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our guide. He will give you a short briefing about the safari and transfer you to the hotel in Nairobi, spend the rest of the day relaxing or go out for a city tour depending on your time of arrival.

Day 2: Lake Nakuru National Park
After enjoying breakfast, you will be picked up by your driver – guide and transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park arriving in lunch time at your lodge. After enjoying lunch, you will go for an afternoon game drive in search for some of the amazing wildlife including lions, giraffes, rhinos (black and white), and many birds including the pink flamingoes.
Lake Nakuru National Park is renowned for hosting large flamingo populations and great rhino populations, the park protects Lake Nakuru one of the soda lakes in the Rift Valley.
Lake Nakuru has algae which attracts large number of flamingoes, the park hosts a variety of wildlife including black and white rhinos, warthogs, baboons, and Rothschild giraffe among others.

Day 3: Masai Mara Game Reserve
Following breakfast, you will meet your driver guide, bid Lake Nakuru national park farewell and transfer to Maasai Mara national reserve.
Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge after check-in, in the afternoon you will go for a thrilling game viewing excursion searching for wildlife inhabiting in the reserve including lions, leopards, cape buffaloes, wildebeests, gazelles, and antelopes among others.
Masai Mara national Reserve spanning 1,510 square kilometers is part of the Mara – Serengeti Ecosystem spamming around 25,000 square kilometers in Tanzania and Kenya including this region which is its most northern portion and it is bordered to the south by the Serengeti National Park, to the west by the Siria Escarpment and to the north, east and west by Maasai pastoral ranches.
Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Masai Mara Game Reserve
Today is the highlight of the safari as you will spend the full day following the Great Wildebeest Migration in the plains of Masai Mara, after breakfast you will be picked up by your guide and head to the reserve with your packed lunch for a full day following large columns of wildebeests, zebras and elands as they graze in the Masai savannah plains.
In addition to the large columns of wildebeests, lookout for lions, leopards, cheetahs, buffaloes, antelopes, rhinos among others.
In the evening you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Departure
After a leisure breakfast, you will checkout of your lodge and drive back to Nairobi with en-route game drive, you will be dropped off at the airport for your departure flight back home.
