This Kenya flying safari takes you on a safari to Amboseli National Park, Tsavo East and Tsavo National Parks which are great wildlife destination in Africa, these three parks boasts a wide variety of wildlife including lions, leopards, cape buffaloes, gazelles, zebras, elephants among others which you will enjoy during game drives.

The safari starts in Nairobi City and ends in the same city.

Detailed Itinerary of 5 Days Tsavo and Amboseli Flying Safari

DAY 1: Nairobi – Amboseli National Park

After breakfast at your hotel in Nairobi, you will be picked up by our guide and be transferred to Wilson Airstrip to catch your flight to Amboseli National Park. Upon landing, you will be warmly welcomed by your safari guide and embark on an en-route game drive as you head to your lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, you will return to the park for an afternoon game drive. Enjoy watching several animals including large herds of elephants, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, lions and leopards and others freely roaming the savannah plains of Amboseli. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 2: Amboseli – Game drives and visit the local Maasai people (optional activity)

Have a full day game drive in Amboseli National Park on morning and afternoon game drives with picnic lunch. Popularly known all over the world as one of the best places to get up close to free grazing elephants, Amboseli National Park is home to abundant wildlife including the large herds of elephants and it is crowned by the magnificent back drop of Mount Kilimanjaro – the tallest mountain in Africa.

As you explore the savannah plains of Amboseli, lookout for several animals including Cape buffalo, cheetah, zebra, wildebeest and impala, among numerous others. Late in the afternoon you will head to the Masai Village for an interaction with the local Maasai people and enjoy their beautiful culture, be entertained by local dances and drama among others.

DAY 3: Amboseli – Tsavo West National Park

After breakfast, you will continue with your adventure journey through dry shrub land and across the great lava flow of Mt. Kilimanjaro and the Chyulu Hills to Tsavo West National Park. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge after checking in, then proceed for an afternoon game viewing drive and visit to the Rhino Sanctuary, a safe haven for the area’s black rhino.

The Rhino Sanctuary is only open from 4 pm to 6 pm each day, providing a rare glimpse into the protected habitat of these animals that have been threatened by extinction since the 1980s due to overhunting. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 4: Tsavo West – Game drives

Have a full exploring Tsavo West National Park on morning and afternoon game drives with picnic lunch. Tsavo West National Park together with Tsavo East National Park make up for the largest park in Kenya, the park is famous for its Maasai giraffes, lesser kudus, zebras, dik diks, lions, leopards, cheetahs among others.

Tsavo West National Park is also well known for its one-of-a-kind volcanic features including Five sisters, the five cone-shaped hills nestled in one area and resembling one another. The Chaumu and Shetani lava flows are also major highlights and we will pass Whistling Rock, the rocky hill that produces whistling sound when there are strong winds.

Tsavo Hippos

We will also visit the Mzima Springs, a phenomenal fresh water body that gushes suddenly from underground rocks in the midst of dry patchy woodlands. From the safety of an underwater observation tank you will have the fantastic opportunity to see submerged hippo, crocodiles and fish on the floor of the springs. The world Mzima is Swahili word for life and this water feature draws its name from its role literally giving much-needed life in one of the most arid parks in Kenya.

DAY 5: Tsavo West – Game drive- Nairobi

Today marks the end of your 5 Days Amboseli and Tsavo West flying safari, you will be transferred to the airstrip to catch your flight back to Nairobi’s Wilson Airstrp. Here you will be picked up by our guide and be transferred either to your hotel or at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight back home.
