4 days Best of Kenya walking safari is an adventurous Kenya walking safari taking you on a visit to amazing Kenya destinations that are Lake Bogoria famous for flamingoes and hot springs, Lake Naivasha and Crescent Island found on the Eastern shore of Lake Naivasha. The island is a home to a variety of game such as giraffes, wildebeests, waterbucks, elands, zebras and impalas and over 200 bird species. The last destination to visit is the Scenic Hell’s gate national park famous for its natural hot geysers and breeding grounds for eagle and vultures on Kenya Safaris.

DETAILED ITINERARY OF 4 DAYS BEST OF KENYA SAFARI  

DAY 1: Nairobi- South of Lake Bogoria via Walking

Have breakfast, checkout of your hotel in Nairobi, meet your safari driver and drive to Lake Bogoria. On your way you will enjoy scenic views of the Great Rift Valley and get excellent photography opportunities, arrive in time for lunch at Lake Bogoria Country Club then head to the game drive for a walking experience.  With a game ranger you are to explore the Lake Bogoria game reserve on a walk of 3-4 hours, visiting Lake Bogoria and the hot springs, take amazing pictures and enjoy the nature. After the experience you will be picked by your safari driver guide and return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 2: walking at Lake Bogoria for Flamingos and Hot Spring

Depart the lodge with your packed lunch and head for a walking experience at Lake Bogoria, Lake Bogoria formerly known as Lake Hannington is a saline, alkaline lake lieing in the volcanic region of Kenya and a little north of the equator. This lake is a Ramsar Site and was once a home to one of the World’s largest population of lesser flamingoes, the lake is protected by the Lake Bogoria national reserve. During the walking experience, you will visit the lake where you will spot a number of pink flamingoes and also visit the hot springs shooting higher at 15-18 most especially in the morning.  While walking around the hot springs, you should be extra careful as they are extremely hot.

You will have picnic lunch set in the wilderness and you will spend the rest of the day walking the open savannah of the reserve with scattered bushes, during the walk you will have a chance to see animals such as greater kudu, Thompson’s and Grant’s gazelles, zebras, monkeys and baboons among others.

DAY 3: Lake Bogoria to Lake Naivasha

Have breakfast and depart for Lake Naivasha is a freshwater lake of 139 square kilometers surface area, the lake is situated in Nakuru County and it is one of the best birding destinations Kenya  as it hosts a variety of birds including flamingoes, African spoonbill among others. Arrive in time for lunch and in the afternoon go for a walking experience at the privately owned Crescent Island, the island is a peninsular on the Eastern Shore of Lake Naivasha. During the walk you will encounter various game such as giraffes, waterbucks, elands, zebras, impalas and a variety of birds recorded to be over 200 species. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 4: Hells Gate to Nairobi

Have breakfast and go for a visit to the Hells gate national park together with your picnic lunches, this park is one of the scenic destinations in Kenya with gorges, nature geysers and it is a bleeding ground for vultures and eagles.  While walking the park you will have an opportunity to enjoy spectacular views of the Fisher’s Tower, the Central Tower, Njorowa Gorges and the two extinct volcanoes of Olkaira and Hobley’s. in Hell’s gate you can also participate in cycling, game drives, rock climbing and camping.

After the experience and picnic lunch you will embark on a drive back to Nairobi for a drop-off at your hotel or at the airport to catch a flight to the next destination or home.
