4 Days Uganda Culture & Hiking safari offers a visit to the Batwa local community, Batwa people are the early inhabitants of Mgahinga forests before they were gazetted as protected area for conservation of mountain gorillas, the Batwa pygmy are hunter-gatherers surviving on hunting and gathering fruits. In the Batwa community you will watch how to collect local remedies used to cure pressure, fever, diabetes and cold, you will also learn how the Batwa prepare their local traditional dishes, build huts using local materials, harvest honey, and make fire and many more.
4 days culture and hiking safari you will also engage in volcano hiking on mountain Gahinga, Mgahinga national park is dotted with 3 Virunga volcanoes that is Mount Sabyinyo, Mount Gahinga and Mount Muhabura.

Detailed Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Pickup in Kigali and transfer to Mgahinga national park
On the 1st day of 4 Days Mgahinga Culture & Hiking safari you will be picked from airport upon arrival by your safari driver, your safari driver will give you a short safari briefing and head to Mgahinga national park in southwestern Uganda. On your way you will enjoy scenic views of thousands of roads and rewinding hills. When you arrive in the park you will check into your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: The Batwa Culture Trail Experience
On the 2nd day of 4 Days Mgahinga Culture & Hiking safari you will have early morning breakfast and head to the Batwa community for a full day of cultural encounter. The Batwa pygmy people are the indigenous inhabitants of the forests of Bwindi and Mgahinga until they were driven out if the forests during the gazetting of these forests as protected areas for mountain gorillas. On the Batwa trail experience you will interact with the Batwa elders who will share the history of the Batwa, their lifestyle, and culture and how they survived while they lived in the forests. You will also visit herbal healers and learn how to pick herbal in the forests, demonstration of unique hunting skills and later be entertained by local dances and songs and also visit Garama caves which were used as hiding spots for the Batwa during war time. During your tour, you will have a lunch break and after the end of the safari you will head back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.
Day 3: Hike Mount Gahinga
On the 3rd of 4 Days Uganda Safari, you will have morning game drive and head to the park for hiking on Mount Gahinga with your packed lunch. Mount Gahinga gets its name from a local word meaning piles of stones, hiking this volcano takes 1 day of hiking up and down the volcanoes and this experience takes you through bamboo forests leading to marshy crater on the top of the volcano. Lower slopes of mount Gahinga habits animals such as bushbucks, buffaloes, forest elephants, elusive duikers and many birds which you will encounter on the hiking. On this hike you will enjoy scenic views of other volcanoes and the spectacular surrounding while on top of the volcano. After the experience you will head back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight
Day 4: Day 4: transfer back to Kigali and drop off
On the 4th day of 4 Days Uganda Safari you will have early morning breakfast at your lodge meet your safari driver and head on your drive to Kigali city, when you arrive in Kigali you will have be dropped off at the airport to catch your departure flight back home.
