Detailed itinerary of the safari
Day 1: fly to Lake Mburo national park and afternoon game drive
On the 1st day of the safari you will be picked from your lodge either in Kampala or Entebbe at exactly 08:00 am after breakfast, from Kampala you will set off on a drive of about 4 hours heading to Lake Mburo national park. On your way you will have two stopovers, one at Mpambire drum centre where they make local artifacts such as drums, African style chairs and another stopover at the equator for monumental pictures. When you arrive in the park you will have lunch after checking into your lodge and in the afternoon you will go on a game drive on which you will enjoy and appreciate the beautiful dramatic landscape of the park with rolling hills. You will also be rewarded with sights of animals such as Burchell’s zebra, elands, topis, cape buffaloes, Rothschild giraffes and many more. In the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight at your lodge.

Day 2: Morning walking safari and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
On the 2nd day of the safari you will have early morning breakfast at your lodge then head to the park for a walking safari, this experience offers you amazing sights of the incredibly beautiful landscape of Lake Mburo national park and sights of various animal species such as Burchell’s Zebra, the impala, topis, Defassa waterbuck, bushbuck, warthogs, Rothschild giraffes and many more. After the activity you will embark on a drive of 3-4 hours to Queen Elizabeth national park, upon your arrival you will check into your lodge, have lunch and in the afternoon you will head to Kalinzu forest for chimpanzee tracking experience. On this experience you will enjoy sights of chimpanzees as they interact with each other, after the experience you will head back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise
On the 3rd day of the safari you will start with an early morning breakfast and at exactly 6:00 am you will head to the park for an early morning game drive in the Kasenyi sector, this sector inhabits a variety of animals such as African bush elephants, topis, cape buffaloes, leopards, lions, antelopes and many more which you will enjoy sights of while on the drive. After the game drive of 2- 4 hours you will head back to your lodge as you wait for lunch, after lunch you will head back to the lodge for an afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga channel connecting Lake Edward to Lake George. While on the boat cruise you will have an opportunity to spot hippos, crocodiles and various bird species such as herons, egrets, grey crested crane, shoebill and many more. In the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight at your lodge.

Day 4: morning game drive and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
On the 4th day of the safari you will have morning breakfast at your lodge and then embark on your journey heading to Bwindi impenetrable national park with an en-route game drive through the Ishasha sector of the park. In ishasha sector you will enjoy sights of the tree-climbing lions lodging the tree branches, when you arrive in Bwindi impenetrable national park you will check into your lodge, have a relax for a while and in the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight at your lodge.

Day 5: Mountain gorilla trekking experience and Batwa community walk
On the 5th day of the safari you will wake early in the morning for breakfast and with your packed lunch you will head to the park’s headquarters for briefing, a senior ranger will take you through the rules and regulations to follow while trekking for mountain gorillas. You will also be assigned a gorilla group to trek and hire a porter to assist you from the headquarters, and then you will head into the forests of Bwindi in search for mountain gorillas. According to mountain gorilla rules and regulations you are allowed to stay only 1 hour in the presence of mountain gorillas, in this one hour you are free to take pictures and videos as long as your flash light is off. After a full hour you will trek back to the park’s headquarters to pick your gorilla trekking certificates, you can be allowed the park while resting and in the evening you will go for the Batwa community walk. On this experience you will encounter the local Batwa pygmy people while carrying out their local activities such as picking herbal medicine, hunting demonstrations, building houses using local materials and many more. You will have dinner and stay overnight at your lodge.

Day 6: fly back to Entebbe international airport for departure
On the 6th and last day of the safari you will have early morning breakfast at your lodge, meet your safari driver then check out the lodge and transfer to Kihihi airstrip for your flight to Entebbe International airport. Your flight will take about 1-2 hours and when you land you will get on another flight back home but according to your departure flight time you can go on a visit to one of Entebbe city’s beaches for a relaxing experience.
