Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge

Clouds mountain Gorilla lodge is a luxury accommodation establishment offering accommodation to tourists on a Uganda mountain gorilla trekking safari in Bwindi impenetrable national park, Bwindi impenetrable national park is a UNESCO Heritage Site and a popular Uganda safari destination known for being a home to the world’s biggest population of the critically endangered mountain gorillas. Bwindi impenetrable national park is located in the southwestern region of Uganda and lies on the edge of the rift valley.

Clouds gorilla lodge is one of the first lodges to be established in the region of Bwindi and open to serve the tourist visiting the park and since its establishment it has gained a reputable status and recommendations because of the exquisite and comfortable accommodation plus the facilities and services it offers. The lodge is highest lodge in Uganda sitting on the altitude of 2,000 meters above the sea level, this lodge is found in the remote Nkuringo area in the south east of Bwindi impenetrable national park and is set on the forested ridge near the entrance to Bwindi impenetrable forests on Nteko ridge.

The lodge boosts breathtaking views of the 8 Virunga volcanoes and the magical forest canopy of Bwindi impenetrable national park, this lodge was built in partnership between the Nkuringo Community Development Fund (NCDF), United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Wildplaces and the African Wildlife Foundation through the International Gorilla Conservation Programme. This initiative was intended to boost the ultimate goal of protecting the natural habitat of mountain gorillas and for the benefit of the community of Nkuringo who are a significant stake in this initiative.

The lodge is a family run business with spectacular stone structures surrounded by afro-montane forests, the main lodge of Clouds Mountain gorilla lodge consists of a reception, lounge with free Wi-Fi access, dining area and balcony. Clouds Mountain gorilla lodge boost a mixture of modern and country house vibes with spacious and comfortable rooms, the structure features large and multi-paned windows allowing a great deal of natural light and spectacular views of the tree canopy and Virunga volcanoes. Clouds gorilla lodge also features French doors opening out onto the balcony, cream furniture, white walls adorned with paintings got from great Ugandan artists.

The lodge boosts 8 en-suite cottage used to offer accommodation to tourists on a mountain gorilla trekking safari and others in Bwindi impenetrable national park, 2 of these rooms have 2 bedrooms ideal for families and small groups. These cottage are beautifully positioned to offer spectacular outlook of the forested slopes, each cottage consists of en-suite bathroom, large double beds and beautiful well-chosen furniture pieces such as head boards, chairs, reading table made out of beautiful wood. Bathrooms in these cottages consists double basin type, European style fittings, simple lines.
