We take a 30-minute walk from Materuni Village to the waterfall, passing through lovely farmland and extensive rain forest. Situated around 15 miles from Moshi Town, this picturesque spot is the penultimate settlement before the Kilimanjaro National Park.

Materuni Waterfall Full Day Itinerary.
To have a taste of life in a native Materuni village, visit our beautiful waterfall and take part in the coffee ceremony. Our English-speaking village guide will meet you at the Materuni village gate and give you a brief introduction to the village after you register and pay at the village office.
After that, it will take you around 30 minutes to hike to the waterfall. You will learn about the village’s economy, agriculture, and cultural life as well as the surrounding flora and wildlife from the guide during the stroll. Once you reach the 90-meter-tall waterfall, the exotic scenery will enthral you. You’re invited to enjoy the natural pool and there’s a nice location to cool down, so don’t forget your swimwear.
In the afternoon, you will have a lunch of traditional Chagga food and proceed on a coffee tour. Chagga food often comprises of rice or pilaf, local fruits, and products from the area. To be honest, we accommodate special dietary requirements. You will also be able to assist in the production of organic Materuni coffee and sample the process of processing conventional coffee. Here, you will also learn about the cultivation, drying, and roasting processes used for coffee.
